Let's go to the Movies

So not only is it the 1st December but its a new challenge on By the Cute and Girly, Let's go to the Movies and don't forget we're looking for all kinds of craft not just card making. I was making my nephew he's Birthday card when I realised this would work too, Jungle Book. All the images are High Hopes Stamps and once again I've used a recess card that was a tutorial on Papertake Weekly by Claudia some time ago. The papers are Cosmo Cricket, hope J likes it.
I was a bit stuck with this challenge when I came to do a bit of Scrapbooking but I scrolled through my photos till inspiriation struck not sure my BIL and Hubby would agree. When I saw this photo I thought of the old movie The Odd Couple although I've never seen the film but I remember slightly the TV show of the movie. The papers are from a Scrapagogo kit, love that I open a kit with the right colours and its all there for you.
Janet was showing us how to Iris fold a photo and another lightbulb moment I could use the photo because Tossa de Mar was the location for the 1951 film Pandora and the Flying Dutchman starring Ava Gardner and James Mason. The papers are K&Co and the netting is from a pack of Onions, which was laying around waiting to go out to the bin (which is outside and it was raining) its held down with brads.
Do pop over to the challenge blog the DT had much better ideas than mine.

Extra Treat

I've done a few cards for challenges, not one of them are standard postage but I loved making them. This one is using Friday Sketcher's sketch this week, my Santa is a Magnolia and I used that Glitz paper once again. A few snowflakes and lots of glitter finishes him off.

Not even a Mouse

Just in case I was having withdraw feelings from Mice I coloured this cute Bear from Pink Gem Designs in mouse colours, he looks quite happy about it too.
The papers are BG Eskimo Kisses and the snowflakes are Martha Stewart, I embossed the background with a cuttlebug folder and then glamour dusted the snowflakes which is much more sparkly in real life. I rather liked him having a bobble hat last time so this chap got one too.
I used the Create4fun sketch using the icicle border punch which has also been glamour dusted, its a good job I have a bottle in reserve because I finished my old one.
I finally made my Nephew he's card yesterday but you will have to wait till tomorrow to see it and I've put inserts into all my Christmas Cards so they're ready to be written and Hubby will stop moaning that the dining room looks like an extension of my craft room.

Sunday's Santa

I was going to show another card today but they're lined up waiting to be photo but it's dark, wet and murky, hope the weather improves later. I saw a sketch on Nat's blog that she had made for Creative Inspirations and knew it would work perfectly for this High Hopes Santa. The papers are Kaiser that I'm pretty sure I got them from Ally Pally but I've only just convinced myself to cut into them. I wish I had that snowflake punch sooner I love how delicate it looks, finished off with a craftwork sentiment.
I might be back later if the the light improve.

Penny Black Sketch

So my very last card as Guest Designer at Penny Black Saturday Challenge, I've enjoyed it so much and would like to than the DT for inviting me.
I leave you with my last card of the month which is using the fabulous sketch and a brilliant way to use up scraps. The last bits of some Pebbles Christmas paper and for a change a Hedgie instead of a mouse. My icicle punch and some snowflakes with lots of glitter finish the job.
I'm thrilled one of my PB mice cards has been chosen for the top 3 at Stampin at the weekend.
But this is what you're really waiting for the draw.

Here are your random numbers:

88

Timestamp: 2009-11-28 07:29:07 UTC

Hopefully my counting is OK but if it isn't it just makes the draw even more random.

Drum roll please

If you can e-mail me your address you'll find in it in my side bar.

Christmas Trees

Christmas Trees are the challenge at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge and I can't believe that this stamp as been inkless till now, he was such fun to colour. I've embossed the background with the snowflakes folder from the Cuttlebug, used lots of glitter.
My tree embellishment is not crooked in RL, I saw it on another blog who had used a different punch and I thought my punch would work. It's 3 punched trees each folded in half and stuck together, it will lay flat but not sure if it would pop back up after travelling through Royal Mail.
My parcel of essentials has arrived Yippee but I may have been on Funky Kits to get some of their Home Grown stamps, whoops.

Mimi's Friday

Fed up with PB mice, well here's Ice Skating Mimi from Pink Gem designs instead and I've had another go at an Easel card. It's such pity these Kaiser papers don't seem to photo well they look so much better in real life. The snowflakes have been diamond dusted and the sentiment is Penny Black I saw it on some's blog and I just had to have it.

Here's a slighty better view of Mimi

Yes I know it's more Mice, this time I've use this week Mojo Monday sketch, using various papers, oh and maybe they could be my new Martha Stewart Snowflake Punches, it's a good job my Sis is too busy to go craft shopping cos I've spent most of my craft pennies.
I'm afraid its not the last of the Mice, there's another batch waiting for the stickles to dry!!!!!!!!!

Mouse Week

I think I shall just call this week Mouse Week cos here's a couple more but I've used some sketches from a couple of Challenge Blogs.
The first card is using this weeks Sketch and Stash, its lovely and easy and perfect for this size mouse. The last few scraps of Pebble paper, icicle punch which has been worth its weight this Christmas and I've also used a Fiskars apron punch. I can't believe I've only recently worked out the stampin up punch is brilliant with the craftwork oval sentiments and to finish off the card is a cuttlebug corner. Also not forgetting lots of glitter.

My second is using the sketch on Sunday Sketch and Stamp, well thats where I started, I think I haven't gone too far from the sketch. The scallop isn't quite a square and it was cut off the cricut and the snowflake is from various dies and then just add the glitter, job done.
I'm a bit peeved I order some essentials and a cricut cartridge from a shop I love to visit but they're mail order is so slow and I know this, so why did I order. Simply because everything I needed was in the one place, its been nine days working days and it was on my credit card on the first day. I blame myself I should of know better.
Maybe I should console myself and buy a Penny Black stamp from The Glitter Pot at least I know I get it, usually the next day.

Winter's Love

Goodness me what amazing entries to the Simon Says Challenge last week, hopefully you love this weeks challenge too.
It's Winter Love and I get to use these sweet stamps from WOJ. I found the embossed paper WeR Memory Keepers and I knew it was perfect for this card and I tried my best to match the colours. I had to keep it fairly simple too so you can see the fab paper.
A bit cross that I couldn't get the camera to show up the sentiment which is stamped with a matching colour it does say Wishing you a perfect day again from WOJ.
Don't forget that there's a brilliant $25 from Simon Says Stamps voucher to be won.
If you can't wait for a crafty spend collect the Black Friday promotion code from the Challenge blog for 15% off your order but you have only till Friday to use it.

Warning

More Mice Cards

Just recording these on my blog so I know what I made this year, similiar to yesterdays.
I'm afraid there are a few more mice cards in the planning stage, they just need putting together. Then I must make my nephew he's birthday card which thankfully won't be a mouse card.

Big thank you to Tracey at Country Mouse blog for this fabby award.

Tilda and Mice

Bev has created another fab sketch for the Create4fun challenge and I needed a break from the mice. I love this colour combo and the Bo Bunny papers which I've only got scraps left now should of brought more. Another new Tilda and you may already know but the stampin up oval punch is perfect for the Craftwork Cards printed sentiments.
A couple of Christmas PB mice cards, the one above is using the sketch from Stamping for the Weekend. The papers are Melissa Frances I think from Fiskars but don't hold to that.
The one below was inspired by some Mojo sketches I had printed from the archive using some papers from last year possibly Dovecraft again don't hold me to that. By making the fiddly bow this card might also go through normal post.
Just need to clear up about my nine cards I made, I had previously coloured the mice watching X factor and I've coloured them lots of times, so I know which pencils to use.

These were my quick and easy cards from Saturday before I had a meltdown and went to bed! The stamp is Penny Black and the the dots are Peel Offs dots with glitter which of course the camera won't let you see.
I had an appointment for the Hospital this morning which they're cancelled and I only got the letter on Saturday so it was too late for Hubby to cancel his day off, so we're off doing some food shopping for Christmas hope we don't get wet.

Mouse Alert

What difference a day makes, feel much better and now I've told myself to go with the flow which is for lumpy cards, I had a successful day and managed to make 9 cards which is a lot for me. With the awful weather we had yesterday I only managed to photo this card in between blustery winds and hailstones but least its not as bad as the poor people up in Cumbria.
My card is following the sketch on Sketch Saturday and using Doodlebug papers I had left over from last year. I've used a Penny Black Mice and an awful lot of stickles on the snowflakes.
I've counted the Christmas cards I've made and I need another 30, so I might have to go missing for a couple of days but we will see how I get on.

Sunday Edwin

My card today is using the sketch from this weeks Friday Sketchers, with a new Edwin stamp and lots of glitter. The papers are Glitz, I did warn you I have brought a few sheets of this paper, its double sided too. Fairly simple card, I suppose I was thinking that it would work for a boy and the funky sentiment is a peel off.
So how's the flat Christmas cards doing, they're not. I'm not sure whether I can blame the flu jabs but my dodgy shoulders are playing up add an awful headache which sent me to bed in the afternoon cos nothing would get rid of it. I've decided that I can only make cute lumpy cards.
Christmas Countdown Blog hop, see the post below.

PB Winter Wonderland

Christmas Countdown Candy now closed

What a great challenge on Penny Black Saturday Challenge, Winter Wonderland. I made a recess in my card and used the fabulous Fantasy tree and some pearls from Papermania, my snowflake was made with various dies and there's as to be Penny Black mouse somewhere. The papers are Bo Bunny I think, I love how this turned out, its nice when an idea in your head turns out the way you want.
But you're really here for the Christmas Countdown Blog Hop, lots of goodies to be won not only on the Challenge blog but all the DT have some goodies on offer.
I've been a bit naughty and this stamp set fell in my basket, thought I would help a fellow blogger to become addicted to these mice too.
There's no way I can work out Mr Linky so just pop a comment on this post. I will draw it Saturday Morning next week.

But there's more
You can win a super duper prize by guessing a well know Christmas song, it has five words and we have given you another little clue by filling in some of the letters (check back to the challenge blog) but to collect the rest of the letters you need to visit each member of the Design Team including our lovely Guest Designer for this month Debby (that's me) ......solve the puzzle and then e-mail your answer to Kath....kathinwesthill@btinternet.com
Entries will close at midnight GMT on Friday 27th November

So to help you along my letters are S and R but don't forget you have to enter a card too.

Don't forget to check out my Secret Crafter card on the post below too.

SCSC Calendar

The challenge on Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge is to make a Calendar well has soon as I saw this I thought how perfect an Easel card would be for this. The Calendar is those cheap ones that you used to get at school to make a present for Christmas. I chose one of my fave stamps and some new Bo Bunny Papers, a few roses and job done. I love making these easel cards they so easy and fun to make.I went for the seasonal flu jab yesterday and I got the swine flu jab too, so thats two sore arms, hope they feel better tomorrow because I plan to make some bulk simple Christmas cards tomorrow.

Cute Tilda

Another card I've made that I've had trouble to photo, which is a shame cos it's such pretty colours.
I've made this as a 1st Christmas card for A spoonful of Sugar challenge and the sketch is for this weeks Create4fun sketch. The papers are Kaiser that I've been hoarding since Ally Pally and the pretty flowers are Prima sent to me by Simon Says Stamps but the Pearl brads are from Hobby House. A cute new Tilda and a bit of lace and ribbon to finish the card.
Hopefully I'll get some cards made today for some DT work to leave the weekend free to get down to serious Christmas Card Making and I need to make some flat cards for cheap posting.
Now don't miss the Penny Black Saturday Challenge tomorrow, you'll regret it if you do and not forgetting Secret Crafter cos I love what I've made.

Snowflakes and Tilda

You wait for a bit of sunshine and it promptly takes the colour out of you photos even though I tried to photoshop it. This card I made for the Sketch Saturday Challenge and I used some Basic Grey papers so I could enter it for the BG challenge because the snowflakes have all been well and truly glittered. I've used the one of my new Tilda's aren't they cute, the ribbon and lace I found in one of my cluttered craft drawers that I keep promising to sort out.
So a really successful shopping day yesterday, just have a couple of things to get and it's just the big present for the Kids which usually is a list of DVD etc, I offer money so they can get them but apparently its not same if you don't unwrap them! I even brought the wrapping paper only to realise I have to make the tags another job on my list.
Miss Tag Along found a dress which she couldn't afford unfortunately it fitted perfectly and it had her name written all over it, we made a deal she will finish paying for it some time in 2011!!!!!!!!!

Carol Singing Mice

There's a great challenge this week over on Simon Says Challenge, Animals and to me that means Mice which also means Penny Black mice. Trust me I only like these critters on cardstock.
The papers are Glitz and you're going to see a lot more of it too cos I brought 3 sheets. I've used the icicle punch yet again, going to make sure I get my money's worth out of it this year. Various dies and punches for the snowflakes, which I've just sponged the tips to make them stand out then dusted with glamour dust.
Now don't forget there's a fab prize from Simon Says Stamps.
Another quick post today we off to Bluewater to do most of the Christmas Shopping, little Miss Tag Along is coming too, she needs a little black dress for the works do.

Just a note

Wasn't sure how I wanted the Friday sketchers sketch to work but I'm reasonable happy with this one. The image is an Elizabeth Bell from Ladybug and friends that I got from Quixotic Paperie . The papers are a download from Sweet Shoppe Designs from Zoe Pearn, the sentiment is from Butterfly Kisses and add some ribbon and job done.
I'm trying to get on top of all the commitments I've made so I can concentrate on Christmas cards another reason for the short post.
