Hot Metal

I've so used to having schedule posts I nearly forgot to post this, so this has to be a quick post cos I'm about to be told its time to go to my Sis.
Anyway this card is for the Hot Metal Challenge for this weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge. I guess I've cheated cos I didn't use anything metal. Instead I used a embossing folder on grey card to give a faux look of metal and of course my mousey is on a tin wind up mouse.
The cogs are Sizzix and the I've also used some jet pearls but there is a brad so maybe thats made of metal.
Do pop over to the challenge and check out the fab creations and we have a new sponsor this week.
I can tell my by Hubbys habits that I've got about five minutes, so a quick link up. If its wrong I'll deal with it later.

Spring or Maybe Summer

Woo Hoo the crooked photographer is back, I know my cards are square and they're not usually has bad as this but I put all my craft stuff and the tripod away cos DD was having friends round but I still have issues setting up my chair etc, need to pop down the shed and find my Hubby's spirit level!
As soon as I saw the sketch on Papertake Weekly I knew I had to use this image from Saturated Canary and the Floral Oval is a must.
The papers are Doodlebug and the flowers is another Simon Says Stamps Exclusive die Bella Bloom but I just used a couple of the small centre flowers, the leaves are Cheery Lynn, finally the sentiment is a retired Stampin up one.
It's going to be a long day since waking up at silly o'clock and had probs getting to sleep in the first place and lots to do today since I'm off to a new scrapbooking crop tomorrow just some like minded people who get together a couple times a year, Sis is coming too. So need to be on best behaviour in case we not invited back!

More Paper Piecing

Now this isn't my idea, I managed to do some blogging, no thanks to Mr Blogger who keeps hiding my blogs  I follow but I saw that someone had used the die waste and then filled it in with the same die. Not sure if Less is More consider it still paper piecing.
I cut out the Simon Says Stamps exclusive Meadow Rue die in green and in a scrap of lilac paper. I then cut out the the flowers, stuck the buds but embossed the back of the open flowers and used a bit of silicone to give them dimension.
The dotty border is a Martha Stewart bunch but its only the edge showing, I've tried to find one in a shop so I can link but can't find one so I may have to photo it later, but it does mean I won't have to buy the one I used on Saturday from Stampin Up although I may have to buy that green twine that I borrowed from the card I didn't make on Saturday.
The butterfly is a Kars punch and the sentiment Woodware using Stampin Up punches.

Paper Pieced Comfy Chair

So after my DT cards which probably wasn't the best to do first I went for a nice and easy challenge card. It's paper piecing over on Less is More and this chair is from Mo Manning called Empty Chair 1 was sat on the top of printer waiting to do just that.
I'm pleased I used an old scrapbook paper that I had a whole 12 inch sheet but nothing to go with it but I'm still left with half sheet since I cut various sized to print the different layers. There was a scrap of matching bluey green card in my scrap card pile.
I even added a sentiment for my base case so no stamping involved although if you look closely there's some smudges cos my printers heads want cleaning but it wants me to put in a couple of new cartridges to do that so I trying to pretend they're not there.
Just a bit of ribbon cos I can't quite leave all that white space but looking at it now I wish I had left it off.

Sporty

I shall get my knuckles rapped for posting this at my usual time because the posting time of Simon Says Stamps challenge has changed to 2pm in the UK. In future I shall try to post something first thing and then post SSS challenge card later. But this was one the last card I made before I left and left my Mojo in Spain.
Photobucket

It's Sporty or Patriotic challenge this week on Simon Says Stamps Challenge and the team is showcasing Cuttlebug products. I've used the diamond plate embossing folder not sure what was in my head at the time probably I thought it was more manly!
Then using an oval I made a little sporty scene using Penny Black critters, Slugger and Field of Dreams. The fence and grass are both  Martha Stewart punches but the grass is actually the icicle punch and the clouds are MFT dies.
The sentiment is Penny Black and I used a square punch to make the banner end, just added a button and some twine to finish.
Now a lot has happened over at Simon Says Stamps Challenge whilst I've been away and I'm so please that I was asked to stay on the team, I know I've said this before but I've a soft spot for Simon and the team, they are my first every DT place and I'm so glad I'm still with them. But it did mean we had to say goodbye to some members although missed I shall still be catching up with them as blogging friends. Now it does mean some new faces on our team and I'm looking forward to working with the new and old team.
One thing hasn't changed is the amazing prize and you have to enter to be in with a chance. Don't forget to pop over to Simon Says Stamps Challenge if you need some inspiration.

Senior Moment

You're probably expecting my Everybody Art Challenge card and in theory it is, well the card I made for it.
But when I loaded in the DT group I discovered I had only read half the challenge Monochrome but I didn't see the brown which means my little blue and white card just won't work and I didn't have time to make another.
I've used this little chap from LOTV and some spotty paper which is in a pile of loose ones so no idea where from. Stampin Up stripey embossing folder, cuttlebug heart folder. I've also used the Memory box Cherish die and it just wouldn't be my card without a bit of ribbon.
Check out the team fab creations and if you want to join in don't forget its Brown Monochrome.
I finally made it into my craft room and made a couple of cards but not sure why I decided to make a mans card first but it will have to do.

Another Elf

Just when you thought it was safe I post a Christmas card and another Elf from Mo Manning called Little Elf Mim. But I wanted to use my cheery Lynn Holly die, which may play a big role for this years Christmas Cards.
The papers are some scraps out of my Christmas paper box but they're either Echo Park or My Minds Eye.
I simply had to use fun flock and flowersoft for the hat and part of the outfit and yes I'm sorry its the Snowfalling embossing folder from Cuttlebug which has retired but I love to use.
Mr Blogger let me see my following list so I had a great time catching up and hoping some mojo comes my way which still seems but in Spain.

Some single layouts

I thought I show the last of my scrapbooking layouts I made at MJ's crop and finished off before I flew off on holiday.
The aim was too use some old papers and some only had odd sheets or scraps with help of some inspired layouts from Pinterest.
The first is of my niece and her gorgeous daughter using some old crate paper.
But the paper isn't as old as the one below that was even older, still can't part with the scraps. Didn't know if the red would work but I had to add to work with the photos.
I've been blogging and have discovered that ATDML blog has a cybercrop with some fab classes, I think I may print some out and use them at a later date.

Wee one

I haven't been and played in my craft room for a couple of weeks now but I think I might be getting itchy feet but unfortunately the rest of my body is screaming NO, but Mr Blogger has allowed me to view all my blogs I follow at last. So I gonna put my feet up and get comfy and enjoy catching up.
But I knew this could be the case and I've still a few cards left to show, OK bit simple but I loved making them.
This is a digi from Sylvia Zet and who brought the craft magazine just to get the exclusive stamps, Oh yes that would be me.
The papers are Kaiser not sure which one cos it was a while ago but I do know it had teacups in. Of course the flowers are are my retro/funky punch from ek success and the sentiment is a retired stamp from stampin up.

Fly the flags

Mr Blogger has been good and schedule all my post these last couple of weeks but refuses to show me the blogs I follow again, hope he sorts it out soon. But he has to schedule this post too, cos I'm going to Nikki's Stampin Up workshop and Hubby can only get me to Sis early morning and you know I'm not going to attempt to write this post on my Sis's slowest PC in Hampshire.
So this is my card for Fly the Flags challenge on Penny Black Saturday challenge, you may recall seeing this layout on a clean and simple card and I think it works fine with my little mousey chap image. I've used my square punch for the banners ends and a Martha Stewart border punch although this was more of an experiment.
I can't for the life of me remember the papers since I made this card several days before we left for our hols.
I kinda like the twine and button and the whole card looks more for a man than a woman so that another mans card in the box.
Do pop over and check the team some fabulous PB stamps to be won this week.
I had a fabulous week in Spain, didn't see any rain for a whole week but its more than made up for that today.
I do have some advice whilst putting suntan lotion on your face, when put it on the side of  your face then the other remember to put some on your nose, otherwise you have a red line down the centre of your nose all week!!!!!

Bauble Elf

Yes I know its another Mo Manning image but I can't help I love them. I'm kicking myself I didn't get this cute Little Elf Finn last year when everyone else did. But I was just being lazy cos I knew I would have to paper piece the bauble and really its not that difficult.
I printed out the image and then stick a piece of card over the bit you want to paper piece and tell the computer software its a card or in my case I tell its photo paper which tends to be a bit thicker than paper and print.
The papers are Authentique and my holly is the Martha Stewart Punch, with the memory box dies.
I have some Simon Says Stamps dies waiting for me to play with they came just before I left for Spain just hope I'm up to playing with them today.

Mo's Blog Hop

When will I learn I found the numbers of Prismacolors for ethnic faces and now I've lost them too but at least I made the little darling before I mislaid them.
It's Blog Hop day over at Mo's Dream Team and Debbie has choosen the theme for ethnic colouring and Mo has some gorgeous images that are absolutely perfect for this, including this sweetheart called Keisha's Curtain Call.
I had to use the Floral Ovals and she fitted, although I was bit off centre. I used the Cheery Lynn flourish with some pink punched flowers and I think the papers are Kaiser.

Back to the blog hop but I'm not in it, you may have realised that I've not been here by the quick posts each day, you just don't advertise you away, even with your DD home.
I should be back in the country but spending the day with MIL whose down at Bournemouth and I hope the weather is better than when we left.
So rather than trust Mr Blogger who has the power to mess up and ruin the blog hop I've refrained from joining but I still made a card. So if you want to join the blog hop, hop over to Debbie whose hosting this one.

Anything but a card

This so not my favourite type of challenge but when you a DT member of Simon Says Stamps Challenge you have to do as your told, although I do have senior moments.

Photobucket

The Team is showcasing 7 Gypsies and Maya Road products but you don't have to use them to enter the challenge.
Originally I was going to make a mini book with the 7 Gypsies 6inch Lille pad but time ran away and I decided to make a gift box. I think it would have been quicker to make the book.
I wanted to used the Romantic Rectangles for the lid so the box had to be made to fit, several lids later.
Also the papers cried out distress me, so every thing was inked included my Hero Arts Etched Flowers.

Here's a pic to prove its a box and not just the top.

Do hope you can join in this weeks Simon Says Stamps Challenge and of course there is an amazing prize to wind and don't forget to check out the team who are far more clever and originally than me.

Some double layouts

Remember my Penny Black circle card and I mentioned a layout, well this is it. MJ showed me the pic on Pinterest that had inspired her but I prefer her layout, she also found me the Kraft scallop circle. I did have a bit of a problem, MJ had used portrait pics and I had decided on landscape but love how it turned out. The patterned circle paper is Crate paper but the rest is bazzill.

Our Christmas photos look exactly like last year ones and they're a bit rubbish but I was determined to scrap them. All I knew was I wanted to used the trees and the baubles, the rest just came together and I'm still not convinced I like.
My parcels were not my idea and if I could of thought of a alternative I would cos they were fiddly and a pain.

Thinking of you

For whatever reason at sometime we all have to make a Thinking of You card and sometimes they're hard to make, so this is this weeks challenge on Everybody Art Challenge.
So I've this gorgeous image from Saturated Canary with My Minds Eye Indie papers. I used butterflies for embellishments to go with the butterflies in the image.
Apart from the deep edge doily punch I've kept it quite simple since the challenge kinda called for it.
Do pop over over and check out the team for inspiration.

Baby Fairy Flower

Isn't she so cute, another fairy image from Mo Manning's Baby Fairy set and love that I can go all pink and girlie after all the red, white and blue card as well as all the those pesky mens cards.
The papers are some left over Prima, I've also used the doily punch for the scallop mat round the image. The flowers are out of my stash and I had to use a bit of my favourite lace.
The pearl and gem embellishment is from my friend who makes wedding jewellery, you can get in touch with her on FB she's Verity May, I do believe she has etsy or ebay shop.
To finish well she needed some glamour dust on her wings.

Dad's Bear

I'm kinda expected to make Father's Day cards for my kids to give their Dad so here's the other one I had to make.
I don't actually remember using this chap before but don't hold me to that. Yes I know its Red, white and blue but the Doodlebug papers are still on my desk.
Very clean and very simple but I kinda like it.

King for the Day

Happy Father's Day and what a perfect image from Mo called King for the Day. I've been really good and used a odd bit of double sided card to make this one.
Left it quite simple has the paper is quite busy especially with using it to paper pieced the chair.
The only thing wrong with this picture is my hubby would have his beer in a glass and his is technology challenged so the TV box will be in my hands where I have to fast forward the adverts.

Circles

Saturday already must be time for another Penny Black Saturday challenge, this time for Circles. Here in the UK its Father's Day weekend so having a bit of spludge of mens cards and this challenge was perfect for them, well I thought so.
I was inspired by a scrapbook layout from MJ the other month and this came together so quickly. Of course the Hedgie is Penny Black and the papers are First Edition. The circles were all cut from punches or nestabilities.
I've also made a layout with the circles which I must remember to load.
But meanwhile we would love for you to join in this week and if you need any inspiration to pop over and check out the team.

Sketch and Stash Sassy

I brought these Authentique papers because I thought they would work for boys/mens cards but in fact I finding them quite hard to use and think they work better as scrapbooking papers. But I've done my best used the Sketch and Stash sketch.
The little chap is Sassy Cheryl, bit annoyed that his face is washed out cos he does have rosy cheeks and more shadowing then whats showing here.
Glad I rediscovered that raffia lace but I'll have to use it sparingly since I don't think you can get it now.

Star Wars

I keep forgetting to load this layouts on this blog, I think I have loaded them onto my other blog under Scrapbooking 2012, they are also larger over there so you can see the double one a bit better.
I kinda made my life hard by only have two sheets of the Bo Bunny space papers and if fact have loads of pics to use.
I was inspired by some layouts and sketches I found on Pinterest.

I struggled with the title for the one below, which is another reason to crop with other scrapbookers, they can help and in this case Karen helped with tongue in cheek title.
