Hello

Something a bit more girlie for today, well you could use this image for a fella but not using purple and pretty flowers.
The image is LOTV bear and I've paper pieced the telephone, saw this on a friends blog and thought it was a brilliant idea so had to have a go too.
The papers are LOTV that are designs from Nitwits and I used my Martha Stewart deep edge punch to make my trellis. The little flowers are an old punch from Do-crafts that I've had for ages but the large flower is from EK Succes again I've had it for ages. The swirly corner is from Memory Box and corners were from Quickutz die again very old but such an old favourite.
Off to swimming this morning, I still need someone with me because I can't keep my balance in the water but I'm hoping to work towards being independent today.

Humour

I don't have any humour stamps that would make a quick card for the Less is More challenge this week. But I do have this chap he's a very old stamp and the sentiment came from the same company but they haven't been around for years so not sure if they're still available.
Quick card he isn't cos he needed colouring and I had to layer him. It was even less quick when some fool decided to draw a wobbly frame and their favourite black pen struggled to keep up.
But for once he photo brilliantly so that made up for it not being as quick.

Some Odd Fairy

Time for new challenge on Simon Says Stamp Challenge

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog

 and this week its
Anything Goes

The team are also using BOTTLE CAP INC AND/OR AUTHENTIQUE PRODUCTS  products but thats not a requirement for the challenge just the DT chance to show what amazing products Simon Says Stamps have in their store.

I've used Authentique Renew paper pack and since it had such pretty papers and this Some Odd Girl Fairy Girl hadn't been used yet, it seemed a shame not to put the two together. Last week I was still under the weather and my card is almost CAS for me.
I've used the Lavish Branch from Memory Box possibly I cut it in the corner so it would hang like I wanted but the join is hidden with the Simon Says Stamps Bella Bloom, the rest of the flowers are from Memory Box.
I added the MFT Crochet border to main square mat because I was using the Sketch and Stash sketch.
The ribbon and pearls were already in my Stash but I know Simon Says Stamps has a huge collection of both.

Now you know the drill to win the chance of this fabulous prize you have to enter the challenge with a new card no backlinking and you need to enter your post using the linky thing on the challenge blog. Also you need to link to the challenge in your post or you won't be eligible for the prize.

A Cool Dad

Now I saw this card on Kath's blog and thought it was so clever and wondered how I could make a similar card. I worked out that I had a hat and glasses from a Avery Elle Hipster-Potamus set but I didn't have a moustache. Obviously haven't kept up with the latest trends!
Then I had a lightbulb moment the Simon Says Stamp Exclusive die Harrington Vine had a tiny swirl half way, up its stem. So I cut two, yes one side isn't the best side and there is join but from a distance you can't see it. The papers were leftovers on my desk possibly from Studio Calico and the letters were cut using a Cricut except Dad which were some letters in my stash. The glasses have glossy accent on them to make them look like glass but it doesn't look that obvious.
Rather pleased how I was able to replicate the COOL.

Angling Andy

So I think that its Tuesday and that means a new challenge on Everybody Art Challenge, this week we have a sketch.
I've used Angling Andy from Dr Digis and he's nice and easy to colour. The Papers I think are My Minds Eye Katie Sue collection but once again don't hold me to that.
The feathers in his hat inspired to make feathers for decorations well they're not flowers. I found some feather drawings on google and paper pieced them. In hindsight I should have made them a bit smaller they've seemed to overtaken the card.
Do pop over to check out the team.

The Artist

After I had coloured and it was laying on the table waiting for me to do something with it, I then had the idea of stamping the sentiment like the little LOTV chap had painted it. Of course I may have seen something on my WWW travels and subconsciously it stuck in the back of my mind. Either way I liked how it turned out.
The sentiment is from CASual Friday set I used a few weeks back and it isn't crooked in real life.
I think the papers are Bo Bunny but don't hold me to that but it works for Lili Little Fairies challenge to use Spots and Stripes.
Trouble with boys cards I added a few stars and some faux stitching and that was pretty much it.
Here in the UK is Spring Bank Holiday which means I'm going to be confused all week which day it is.

Goosey where are you!

No idea where the sketch was from I think possibly it could be one pass its entry date but the sketch did cry out for those Joy corner dies to be used.
The papers are My Minds Eye, the flower die is MFT, so is the crochet border die round my image mat and the butterflies are a really old punch.
When I first saw this image or one close to it I couldn't find it in Saturated Canary shop the one I could find had a goose on it but I had to have the sweet girl so I erased the duck off sounds like a horror movie. Did have the issue with her jeans which had a bit missing so I just use a Memento pen to line that in.
Had a really pants day yesterday it felt like the worst day of my cold had come back but I think it was a case of overdoing it this week and my body was reminding me I can't do that anymore.

Quick Penny Black Card

It hasn't been a good week for crafting, first with not feeling to good at the beginning of the week, day's out too so it means that I've only a quick Penny Black card to show today. I think the Penny Black stamp could be retired cos I can't find it in any shops but its called Absolutely Silly about you.
I've put it with some Echo Park Happy Days papers, some faux stitching a bit of ribbon and sentiments job done.
I really need to get into my craft room today and start getting ahead of myself have a least two cards that have been wandering inside my head need to get down and make them.

Football Crazy

You may have seen this card yesterday because instead of saving I publish it then quickly deleted it and started again. When I make a card I upload the photo into drafts in case Mr Blogger has an issue with uploading the pic it will already there.
So this is Mr Dunderton from Dr Digi who has loads of fun Mens images, I've also tried but failed I think using the Sketch Saturday sketch. I decided he would look good up against the Bricked embossed wall and and the strips are edged with a zig zags using MFT die.
I did put Mr Dunderton slightly higher but he look like he was floating so I brought him down to the ground but them I felt he needed a bit of grass to stand on which is using Martha Stewart Icicle punch.
The sentiment was chosen so I could use for Father's Day or a Birthday, it came from CASual Fridays.
I'm off to go swimming this morning with a Disabled club I only started last week but I'm still not 100% with a tickly cough which is keeping me awake all night but felt it would look bad not going the second week.

Blog Hop Winner

My turn to chose a winner and its
Cathy at Happiness Shared Blog

Georgia

Well I've been awake since silly o'clock so I've got up and decided to post my card for today. This little darling has been waiting in my drafts for a while. Possibly it was because my camera has made her face wishy washy don't know why it does that when the rest of outfit is fine.
She is called Georgia and of course you can find her in Mo's shop here. Papers are from LOTV designed by Nitwits got slightly carried away adding pearls to the printed flowers. The foliage die is Memory Box Lavish Branch with some punched flowers with again pearls centres, finally the sentiment is from Craftwork cards.

Flash Bang Wallop

Time for new challenge on Simon Says Stamp Challenge

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog

 and this week its
Take a Picture
anything photograph/camera/film related

So onto my card I was a bit stumped when thinking of a card for this challenge but when you sit down and see the rest of the team you will realise there are plenty of ideas just wish I had them when I made my card.
I used a Penny Black Say Cheesecake stamp which luckily has a camera on and since its a large stamp my card was almost done.
The papers are American Crafts Soho Garden and I finally got round to using the Spellbinders Curved Borders die. I also used the Simon Says Stamps Bella Bloom but to make is more masculine I added button centres. Last but least I used the All Occasions Banner stamp and die set.

Now you know the drill to win the chance of this fabulous prize you have to enter the challenge with a new card no backlinking and you need to enter your post using the linky thing on the challenge blog. Also you need to link to the challenge in your post or you won't be eligible for the prize.

Simon's Beeees

Something to tie you over to the new Simon Says Stamps Challenge later. Its using one of their stamp sets called Circle Friends, the bees are a fab size to cut out but I also stamp on yellow and cut out the strips so they matched with everything else.
My hexagon are MFT but used the frame border but cut out the outline of a hexagon which I then run through the xyron so they wer sticking and stuck them on the stamped honeycombe circle, then simply cut round them.
The sentiment is stamped inside a Talk bubble but I cut it yellow and then white but trimmed round the white to allow a yellow border to show through. The sentiment is from the Circle Friends stamp set.
Sorry a bit late this morning it was a late night last night picked DS from the airport but didn't realise they shut off the A3 the main road to the M25 so had to take a longer route.
See you at 2pm

Rainbow flowers

I made this card a couple of weeks ago cos I got my challenges mixed up so hope I can remember what I used. First of all the new challenge on Everybody Art Challenge is for Flowers nice and easy.
Right to start with I've used Fussy Frankie from the Cry Babies set, you can buy them separately or as a set we all know which one I've got.
The papers are Doodlbug and the sentiment is an old one I found which I think works a treat.
Flourish Foliage from Memory box for my flowers CC Designs five point flowers which I've tried to match the pattern papers. Some faux stitching to finish.
Do pop over to the challenge to check out the team.
I'm not going to go on about the cold and now the tickly cough I have nevertheless no crafting was done yesterday, fingers crossed I make it today

Wind Flower

I love how this turned except one thing but more about that later. I'm using the Freshly Made Sketch and the flowers are Wind Flower a digi from Janey Digi Designs, I particular like this flower cos it has the leaves as well.
I did have issues I cut the centres out and then I went and did something stupid like dotted them with a white pen looked awful but saved by Micro Beads, well I'm not keen on them but its not a wasted card.
The sentiment is from Stampin Up and the dotty paper is by them as well.
So my biggest bug is the ribbon it is no way that colour, its obviously to do with light shadow and a camera with a life of its own.
I delighted (not) to inform you that I have a cold and feeling a bit pants but I reckon Mr Mojo has legged it rather than get one himself so it will be interest what I shall be making this week!

Zentangle Cats

You're right I'm such a coward and I couldn't bring myself to post the previous card on the LIM challenge good job I had this one made as well.
I picked it up at the Make it Show at Little Claire's stall while chatting to Heidi. I was going to colour it in but I thought how fab it looked just in Black and White. They look a bit like the zentangle drawings they're probably not but thats what they remind me of.
Of course its been debbylised by cutting, the different parts out and using silicone glue to give them dimension and layered.
Just some tiny scallops Martha Stewart punch and the All Occasions Banner set from Simon Says Stamps.
Not sure if I shall get into my craftroom today, woken up to a scratching throat not a good start for the following week.

Where's Spot

This is a cheeky LIM card they're asking for Cats and Dogs and I couldn't help wondering whether I would get away with using paw prints.
The stamp is quite old and possibly an Anita but the sentiment was from a Simon Says Stamps Exclusive stamp set called Friendship Circles. A spotty ribbon to finish.
Now do I have the courage to post it on the challenge blog.

Strawberry jam

Its a Saturday well at least I think it is and so I like to post a Penny Black card, this week we're back to some cuteness.
The papers are Echo Park Take a Note possibly and I've used the Triple Scallop Border die from MFT but I ran it in plain red as well as the pattern, I quite like it.
The flourish is a Honeyblossom Sprig and the flowers are Fancy Blossom both from Memory Box. Sentiment is from LOTV.
There is a sketch here you can just see in the bottom right hand corner that its two triangle mats, the sketch from Sketch and Stash is totally hidden, also I added a border so its not a true sketch.
The stamp is of course Penny Black but its called Sugar Sweet Dreams not sure if it still available.

Back to the drawing board

So I had in my mind a Less is More Coloured Card challenge and I decided to hunt out some pearlescent paints that have been hiding in a box where they're now been put back for another decade. Much prefer my prism or polychromo so I shall stick with them in future.
But basically stamped and embossed with white painted them in, drew around the card and bit of ribbon to finished then hated the the centres so added some micro beads which I also hate.

Now the next few cards were another idea using my favourite Hero Arts stamp which was to emboss in white and silver. It doesn't look half bad until you photo it and it looks odd.
I stamped and embossed the sentiment because it doesn't show up well in the white embossed flourish.

This is one that worked the best but I stamped it on a smaller bit of card so it had to be backed with silver.
Looking forward to the next challenge.

The Box

Here is the box that caused me so much trouble the other week. First of all the item that was going inside didn't fit the first box.
The next box was too large but it was tough I'll get some tissue paper to wrap it in.
So to the lids, here lays the problem why I don't know its quite simple enough. First lid didn't fit, the next was too big and the third sort of fitted, had to do.
Went off and had a bit of lunch came back and decorated box lid was really pleased except it was the too small one apparently I should of binned it instead of having a variety of box lids on my desk.
No way was pieces of card getting the better of me. I managed to salvage some of the bits to put on the right lid but the Impression Obession border round the the lid had to be redone again.
So the top of lid I used Bella Bloom from Simon Says Stamps Exclusive dies and the leaves are Delicate Fern and the leaves are Tender Leaves from Memory Box.

Here's a pic of it at a jaunty angle. That's it no more boxes for me it cheaper and less stressful to buy one.
