Wish is could be Christmas

Yes yet another CAS card this is only cos I want to make quite a few cards ready for some busy days ahead and I trying this style out for making normal postage cards. It was touch and go over the Hedgie scarfs but it did make it.
So of course the boys are a Penny Black stamp called Hedgie Shuffle, the papers are First Edition and apart from the the MFT snowflakes thats pretty much it.
Oh I pricked a line at the top cos I've been seeing it on other cards and some stupid person forgot she wanted the image mat the height of the card then promptly cut it. Under the ribbon is a bit of a repair and the ribbon is a bit lower than I wanted but the pricking does take the plainest away from the top.
Should be a quiet weekend and I should at some point get into my craftroom.

Lantern Girl

I had pinned this sketch in my card sketch board and thought it would work with this sweet image from LOTV.
I kinda like the idea of her walking along the fence which is from MFT along with the crochet border die that I had guided round the oval, actual fact the snowflakes are MFT too.
The papers are a Nitwits download and it was finished with glitter and tiny gems, oh not forgetting my trademark of a bit of ribbon.
So who saw Dawny P on Create and Craft wasn't she brilliant. I was watching the 4pm show cos Sis was showing me how to use my Sewing Machine and we made a bag to carry my wheelchair cushion although no one was keen on the bit of curtain material that I had left years ago.
I'm please with my bag although it is a bit rough and ready but now I'm confident to buy a nice piece or I might actual cut some of the pretty material I have. Its a bit like having a pretty bit of card and finding it hard to cut it.

Spiders

Has I was so unhappy about my Less is More Washi trees I decided to make another card, ok I wish I never added the orange strips but they are well and truly stuck down.
Now I may have mention the spiders die I got at the weekend well here they are and it was a perfect time to use my Martha Stewart border punch it comes out at Halloween or when I need paint dripping.
The brick wall is a Sizzix embossing folder and the dotty scallop is another Martha Stewart die but I've hidden most of the pattern just leaving the tiny scallop in view.
Hopefully the challenge has got the tape out their system and never to be repeated again!

The Greeting Farm

We moved to wordpress so don't forget to update your bookmarks

This week the challenge is ,,,,,,,,

Anything Goes

We are showcasing The Greetings Farm this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have them we would love to see them used.
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store!

First of all I must apologise for yet again managing to use The Greeting Farm Hatter Bean that is out of stock obviously myself and loads of you have the same taste.
The paper is Authentique Delightful it ok thats in stock. Now down to the details, well the corners are La La Land Filigree Corner, my favourtie butterfly die of the moment is the Simon Says Stamp Leanna die but I've used a Memory Box butterfly body.
The swirls are from MFT medium Fancy flourish but I had to turn one over to get the right look, I know it would work out expensive but I would really love a left and right flourish cos when you turn it over it doesn't have the nice finish.
Now my flowers are Simon Says Stamp Bella Bloom do love this die but they didn't start as white flowers, no originally they were orange cut from the paper pack. Luckily I managed to whip them off cleanly and replaced with white ones don't worry have since used the orange ones on a CAS card to post another time.

Now you know the drill to win the chance of this fabulous prize you have to enter the challenge with a new card no backlinking and you need to enter your post using the linky thing on the challenge blog. Also you need to link to the challenge in your post or you won't be eligible for the prize.

Washi Trees

Can't say I was impress with this weeks Less is More Washi tape of course I've seen amazing stuff on various sites but when I use it, it looks pants.
I do have some reels of tape including a couple of green ones so I simply stuck it white card and cut out some trees to make a Christmas Card. I used the Sizzix embossing folder falling snow, also the tags are a retired punch from Stampin Up and yes the sentiment is a peel off but they fit inside the tags brilliantly.
I really not sure on those trees.
Anyway it will tie you over until 2pm when its the new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
Also can you make sure I don't mention how I'm going to go in my craftroom to make loads of cards cos it just doesn't happen.

See you at 2pm

edited Oh my goodness have just checked out Freshly Made Sketches and I've been made Queen of Clean for their 100th challenge, now I'm even more embarrassed with my Washi Trees.

Baby Angel

edited picture not as crooked but slightly straighter than before.
I'm having major computer problems like my Picasa doesn't work so I've tried to do the same things on another photo editing programme that I haven't a clue about which why my card is still crooked well worse than normal.
Not even sure this is the card I planned for today but its the only way that saved properly and I was able to load to my blog.
So who is this sweet darling but one of Mo's babies this one is called Baby Angel 1 and is so easy to colour and quick which most important with Christmas Cards.
I've used the Sketch Saturday Sketch the papers are a Joy pack not sure where I picked it up from. The fence is MFT and the I use some silver twine to tie round it. The stars are Memory Box and I used white pearls to hide the lilac centres of the snowflakes on the paper. The snowflakes or stars with the Baby Angel I used a glitter pen to give them sparkle. Not sure if my baby is sitting on a cloud or on the ground even way I use some flower soft and fun flock to make it fluffy.
Have paperwork to do today and then I hope to make a card at least I've another week coming up with lots of things planned and I'm guessing that I will pay for that later so I need to make plenty of cards for days I'm out and when I'm recovering. Good job I have loads of images waiting to be used.

A Little Elf

After using Little Elf Kit (can't find the card) well I remember colouring the elf in, found it, its hiding in a pile of coloured images waiting to be made into a card, poor thing I will have to remedy that.
Anyway it made me realise I didn't have the Elf holding a parcel (days when I didn't have a printer that didn't smudge) didn't know it was two elfs called the North Pole Employee's. One holding a parcel and one holding baubles which is the one I've used today.
I decided to follow the sketch on Sweet Sketch Wednesday and with some Doodlebug papers this is what I came up with although that space in the top right corner keeps saying to me fill me. But I'm resisting because the busy tree paper needs something to tone it down a bit or you lose my elf.
My favourite Martha Stewart Punch at the moment and it such a sweet size you can use to hide all kinds of dirty marks. The icicle punch is out too along with the glamour dust and my mixture of funflock and flowersoft for the hat and the hats pom pom.
Well Hubby wasn't working yesterday and the damp weather first thing was depressing and theres nothing like a shopping trip to cheer you up especially down to Burgess Hill although the stairs are a bit tricky. But I was mighty glad to go cos I've been after Glowing Candles by Memory Box which has been sold out everywhere except the last one I picked up along with some spiders which Hubby wanted to know since I hate spiders what on earth would I want to make cards with them!

Spot the Difference

I really like this week sketch on Freshly Made Sketches until I made my card! The papers are some old one which have only a few sheets left and the stamp is designed by Jane Gill for Woodware. But I think its a bit plain so I took the above photo for the challenge.
Then added some Holly and it took the one below I still feel it needs something.

I had forgotten how my joints hate the rain and damp weather hope the sun returns soon.

Fly Away

I do love how this card turned out but its a bit CAS for me really but I'm going to have to accept that is what I'm liking at the moment.
Being that its Saturday this is a Penny Black stamp called Fly Away and is available as a Slapstick stamp while mine is actually a wooden one. The sketch is from The Friday Sketch Challenge of course someone had to use an image that wasn't a square and almost takes over the card!
The stars are from Simon Says Stamps Large Holiday shapes die and I used the die to cut round to make the mats, the Tilted Banner is also Simon Says Stamp. The kites are Memory Box and again I used the die to draw round and cut out to make the mats behind them and you have to use twine for their tails but gosh those little bows are tiny but they have to be used or else the kites don't look finish.

Reusing again

The last of the two Sarah Kay images that I'm re-using but I had to change the mat behind the image and to do that I had to pull off the border. Luckily for me it worked ok.
The Sketch started as the latest Sketchy Challenge but I added ribbon and lace it seemed a shame not to. I'll still add it to the challenge and leave it to the DT to decide whether it is not eligible
Since the Bella Bloom and the bit of the Harrington Vine from Simon Says Stamps and had to add some on the side to balance the card.
Off to swimming later with The Friday Swimmers which is a disabled swimming club but gosh its hard work when you wake up at silly o'clock and you have to make the effort guess I better have another mug of coffee.

Wheels

So the challenge on Less is More is Round and Round, hadn't a clue so I checked some of my boards on Pinterest and I saw this, when you go to the website the artist even shows you how she made it. I didn't have all the inkpads so I just used one and stamped it four times. Then I saw another card using the background stamps which I now hid with my image. By the time I was finished it was a bit too much for Less is More.

So I made this one, my friend Nikki was using the postcard stamp at the crop and I realised I had a similar stamp by Unity. The original ideal is that the wheels on my Memory Box bike go round and they do but its a bit fiddly but the intention is there. It looks better in real life but now I'm thinking maybe this is too much too.

Back to School

We moved to wordpress so don't forget to update your bookmarks

This week the challenge is ,,,,,,,,

Back to School

We are showcasing Maya Road this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have them we would love to see them used.
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store!

I kinda knew I was going to use this adorable Pure Innocence Cute-A-Tude  and my Maya Road Metric Ruler stamp with the Bo Bunny Surprise 6inch paper pack and that was it.
I didn't have a clue how I wanted to layout the card so I stamped the ruler onto several patterned pieces and used the ones thought looked best
Of course my little cutie was going to paper pieced not sure why but the Pure Innocence alway cry paper piece to me.
The deckle edge spellbinders had landed on my desk so that got used too along with the MFT corner so the layout sort of found itself.
Has it was quite busy already I just decorated with the Harrington Vine which you know I love and the Bella Bloom flower from Simon Says Stamps Exclusives.
Next week I must plan my card instead of trying to craft with my fingers crossed that it will turn out OK.

Now you know the drill to win the chance of this fabulous prize you have to enter the challenge with a new card no backlinking and you need to enter your post using the linky thing on the challenge blog. Also you need to link to the challenge in your post or you won't be eligible for the prize.

Disney Girls

Last Saturday at the MJ's All day Crop I actually scrapbooked other photos than Christmas and it was liberating. Although I've taken the decision to scrapbook 2012 before I get onto this year. Not all the photos are mine I back up my daughters photos and this is the only way I sometimes get nice photos of her.
These girls all met up while working in Florida for Disney and they got together again for a wedding hence the title.
With the help of a sketch from Pinterest and the fact I can make it all girly with flowers this layout was born.
The large daisy flowers are a retired Sizzix die and the smaller flowers is Memory Box with a Cheery Lynn swirl with leaves.
I'll be back like Arnie says but it will be at 2pm with the new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

Igloo

I haven't joined in the Sketch Saturday challenge for a couple of weeks now but when I saw the new one for this week and knowing it was going to be an almost quick card just had to join.
The image is called Igloo, one of the many new ones that Mo has drawn recently and I knew that this image was not going take long to colour so good for Christmas. Of course it would take longer if you decided to colour and cut out the ice blocks which was one of my first ideas soon scrapped that one.
I knew I wanted to use the Joy snowflake border and snowflakes did have an issue get the little blighters out of the die. Years ago I did Parchment craft but my hands soon made me give that up but I had a bar of soap to twist my embossing tool in to help it glide but over the course of time the bar of soap has harden so I use this to rub over the dies and then brush lightly off it works a trick.
The papers are Echo Park and I used a mixture of Flower Soft and Fun flock for the little Eskimo clothes then used an abundance of glamour dust.
Pleased how this card turned out and once the dies behaved how quick.

More Christmas Layouts

Thats it I've finished making layout for the Christmas Journal not because I've run out of photos more like I've run out of steam. Maybe re-start at Christmas when I feeling seasonally. So the above one is David's first  real Christmas really he was only six months on his very first Christmas.

At a Christmas Crop we had to wear hats some us were Bah Humbug.

While Andrea is living at home all her Disney Christmas ornament adorn our Christmas tree when she leaves we will have to buy some more for ourselves.

Before standing became an issue and I'm a lot slimmer now, preparing for Christmas.

Using Buttons

I finished off my layouts yesterday then hit a wall so I didn't make any cards and this is my last one in drafts. The Zebra is a Stampin Up stamp that I stamped and embossed white ages ago but I couldn't throw away and decided to use it for a Freshly Made Sketch a couple of weeks ago but I missed the deadline. But I noticed that the Cute card Thursday challenge is for buttons so I think this card will work for that instead.
I embossed with a Woodgrain folder and inked over it to show it up more.
The buttons were hiding in my stash and so was the twine.

Freshly Made

So my crafting hat is a bit lopsided at the moment so I decided to give this weeks Freshly Made Sketches a go.
First I used the Simon Say Stamp Tri Circle die, now I used to do this with a circle punch but gosh this takes the headache away from lining them up.
Since I'm on the Christmas card bug I decided to use Happy Holidays die and stamp again from Simon Says Stamp a bit more tricky lining up. But I stamp them separately and then cut out roughly also used repositionable tape so I could alter the placement.
The papers are Doodlebug and the Holly is a Martha Stewart Punch.

Now we Crafters are a canny lot and you can't waste the wastage so I used it on another card this time I added some snowflakes but embossed the layers. The folders are Sizzix Snow Falling and a Darice one.
I had a brilliant day yesterday although cutting tools like the Cricut and the Big Shot were ganging up against me so I still need to put titles on my layouts.

Embroidery Cat

Yes I know this is a schedule post but Hubby is taking me to my sisters at silly o'clock so he can go out working. I'll be lucky to get a cup a coffee before I dragged to the car.
Not sure where I picked this cute Penny Black although I've noticed he's a bit grubby, not sure how that happened.
Wanted to use these patterned papers because I've only a few left not sure dotty and butterflies worked together but hey ho.
But I did get to use the MFT sewing dies and stamps for embellishments of the cotten reels and thimble and the needle and thread is Memory box. Finished with butterflies, my trade mark of a bow and ribbon and added some lace because I can.
Wasn't sure my crafty head was on or even if it was working but I think it turned out OK.
