There's a very basic mistake on my card and I totally blame that the flu I have had has turned my brain to mush.

I wanted to use a Crazy cat from Tim Holtz stamps and decided to use the Simon Says Stamp Falling Rain Background stamp. Using Ranger Clear Embossing Powder and a Clear Embossing Inkpad I stamp and embossed my rain.

Then I used a Ranger Mini Inkpad in Tumbled Glass on a bit of plastic, added water and a large paintbrush painted across the rain drops. I placed this to one side to dry and concentrated on my crazy cat.

I actually used some more mini inkpad and the blending tool to colour my cat, I think they were Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmonn and Rusty Hinge. I cut out four layers, his tail, body, front legs and head. I wasn't bothered that the blended ink went over his eye because I cut them out of a non coloured image to make them stand.

Now my cat is looking up and I decided he needed to look at something so that was why I got out the Simon Says Stamp Cloudy Skies to use the clouds and then I saw the birds so had to use them too.

To finish I used a sentiment that was with the Cloudy Skies and thought it was perfect.

The basic mistake, I should of coloured wash first and stamp with the inkpad, then embossed because my rain is white and looks like snow!

The Kiss

I finally managed to make a card for the new Everybody Art Challenge this week its a sketch.

Now I've photograph my card I realised my bit of ribbon should of matched the hat instead of her dungarees. The sweet image is Sarah Kay from Stampavie which is so sad they are no longer with us but I won't be parting with any of my favourites

The papers are some odd ones I have, I've had a good sort out of my 6inch paper packs and trying to use the odd ones first.

My butterflies and flowers are the circles on the sketch and for the first card made since I've been ill, I'm quite pleased how it turned out.

Do pop over and check out the team, also hope you can join us this week.

Bride and Groom

I finally got round to scrapbooking 2014 and in February of that year my Mum and Dad renewed their vows although Mum knew nothing about it. It was while making the pocket pages ( there's a lot of photos) and the larger layouts that I realised within  twelve months we had lost both of them which gave me the title of the layout I recently posted here.

I brought a pack of Carpe Diem and a few extra singles so that all the photos will be using them to give them a bit of order when in my albums.

The butterfly and words are Visible Image which was in the shop at the retreat and I think the words stamped on Mums page but it feels it was a long time ago.

The frame emphasis Mum's face is a Spellbinder and the title is cut from a Cricut but I had cut the letter three time each so that once layered together it shows up on white

I'm finally back I won't say I'm 100% better but I'm not coughing so much but I'm having to take things slowly still feel a bit wobbly. Yesterday I made a couple of cards, fingers crossed I may make a couple more today, they are quite and easy ones but its a step in the right direction.

Thank you for all my get well wishes.

Bunny Basket

Its a mid month reminder on the Penny Black Saturday Challenge, another chance to use some of those Easter stamps and in my case this little bunny in a basket. To be honest I would probably use him as a new baby card for a boy.

I think I made a card using a similar sketch a few weeks ago but I made the card in between recovering from last weekend and going down with the lurgy so I knew it had to be CAS.

The papers are Doodlebug just a little strip, the decorative strip is possibly Marianne or Joy die not sure which but the die is blue and annoyingly the paint colours the edges of the white luckly isn't not obvious but I know its there.

The daisy is Upsy Daisy by MFT and the centre is a circle punch, the sentiment is LOTV and since this is my last Easter card I better put it away before it gets lost.

Do pop over to the challenge I know some of the DT have made a mid month reminder card too.

This is also double post Saturday since I was asked by Penny Black to use one of their Mo Manning stamps. Me I'm going back to bed taking my sugar free strepsils (Yuck) painkillers, bottles of water and tissues with me.

Cupcake Fairy

I was very lucky to receive some Mo Manning Stamps from Penny Black, I can remember a time I could only drool over the digi images because my printer smudged the ink and trust me I tried everything. Eventually I used my sister's printer and it was fine so I brought one too but I'm still scared that one day I will have to buy another and love that I can get the images has stamps.

Enough waffle this is Cupcake Fairy which is in the Penny Black Shop  and I love that I've nearly used up some Prima papers to make the card. I would have liked the sentiment smaller or at least the cupcake word slightly smaller.

I think the leaf swirl is possibly an old MFT die so it the fence but the flowers are punches. I added glossy accents to the cherry although not obvious in the photo and Wink of Stella clear glitter pen on the wings and frill of the tutu.

I had such plans for the last couple of days but I've come down with a really yukky virus affected my throat and I really feel pants. Had hoped I feel better today, the answer to that is no but this is the third day and my Mum used to say once over the third day you start to feel better so thats tomorrow fingers's crossed them.

When

This is the layout that I won a challenge with at the Scrapbook Retreat at the weekend. The challenge was why do you scrapbook.

At the weekend I was scrapbooking the photos of my Mum and Dad renewing their vows in 2014. I realised while doing them that they both passed away within a year and all I have left of them is memories and photographs. I didn't add memories to the title because I thought it was too long and this beautiful photo of my mum.

The hearts are Simon Says Stamps Stacked Hearts there's possibly four or five on the layout and they may have had bits cut so I could place them down the side of the photo.
I cut two more using the Simple Stories Carpe Diem one in the pink dotty paper and one in the aqua green dotty paper. I didn't have to cut out any more just using a few hearts in some of the heart spaces.

The large Daisies or Asters are from Memory Box and the leaves and swirl down maybe Cheery Lynn. The butterflies an old punch I have, I punch two for each butterfly one to fully stick down on the page and one I emboss the back of, put a tiny bit of tape in the centre and cut up sticky fixers on each wing. This give the buttterfly dimension.

After adding the hearts I realised it needed something round the whole layout and paper pricked the edge.

I showed my daughter when I came home and she was annoyed with me because I made her cry.

Spring Blog Hop

I had to make this card quickly last week before I went away since I wasn't sure I would be up to making a card in time. So it pretty clean and simple although Mo's image always saves the card this time I've use Sorry Shanna because the flowers she is holding look like tulips.

The papers are Doodlebug, probably from last year and the flowers are my EK retro punch with the added butterfly from Kars I think.

The scallop oval and dotty border oval are from Avery Elle but I had to draw round the dotty border ovalwith a thick pen on a bit of scrap card to give me a template for the yellow border oval.

Now this being a BLOG HOP, hopefully you've come by the way of  Gaynor and now you need Hop, skip and jump over to Lou. Don't forget to comment along the way to be in with a chance of winning one of the two vouchers to spend in Mo's shop.

I'm off to Slimming World to see how badly I've done after a weekend of sweet, chocolate and cakes.

I love this cute bunny from Simon Says Stamps Melody's Easter so I started to making him by stamping and cutting out layers to put together. Ok I cheated a bit since I only used pink to colour his paws and cheeks.

I was looking at my card sketches on Pinterest to give me some idea what to do with him. In the end the card ended up a mixture of sketches.

So I made my shaker box using Simon Says Stamps Stitched Rectangles, I backed the shaker card with Taylored Expression Hello Happiness and the sequins were Taylored Expression matching ones.

Now I need some clouds and it just so happens I had the new Cloudy Skies dies and stamps and I had to use the birds that came with it.

The Hippity Hop sentiment came with Melody's Easter but it needed to go with something and I remembered the Simon Says Stamps Naughty Nautical. Luckily the black line that stamps with the I forgot almost got cut off when I used the stitched tag from the Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes.

Communion

We have a new challenge today on Everybody Art Challenge this week is for a Communion Card. I'll be honest I don't think I've made one before.

Since I was in a hurry I decided to make a card although not quick but one that didn't need to much thinking time so I got myself this fab image from Mo Manning called First Communion S. I also decided to pick up the boy version too.

Then it was a case of using a pretty paper with all my favourite dies, Floral Oval, La La Land Corner and the Memory Box foliage die. A bit of lace and ribbon and all I had to do was to layer my image and use a glitter pen on the dress lace and veil.

Then a was a couple of fiddly bits but I love how the card turned out.

Pop over and check out the team, don't forget to join us this week.

Daisies

A quick clean and simple card that was made by accident, first the curve dotty paper was left over from another card and the flowers were punched out but not used so I put them together.

I ran out of time for the sentiments and said a silent prayer to Mr Mojo that it stamped first time on the linen card and it did.

I am shattered and I need to to empty and sort out my bags from the Retreat but I hurt in places I didn't know I had a problem with but I had a brilliant time and even won one of the challenges. When I find the layout and able to take a photo I will post it.

I don't think I will be up to making cards for a couple days and DT cards have all been made up to Thursday but I do  have to make a Penny Black one for Saturday.

Scrapbooking

Not loving my layouts but not sure how I can improve them but at least they've recorded what we did in February 2014. Yes I'm that behind and that year was particularly busy.

I've taken to the retreat my Mum and Dad renewing theirs vows, very picture heavy.  Theirs also my Gt Nephew's first Birthday and there is a wedding too so loads of photos that must be scrapbooked.

Special Delivery

Oh yes I found time to make a Penny Black card using the sweet Special Delivery and I used the Splitcoast Stampers card sketch SC 582.

Then went a bit mad using stitched dies, Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes, their Stitched Rectangles and not forgetting their Stitched Circles.

The papers are Doodlebug Sweet Things not just for Valentines, works fine for a female birthday card.

To finish I used Simon Says Stamps Stitched Daisies and the sentiment is from their Birthday Messages set.  Nearly forgot the ribbon which comes from my stash.

At least if Mr Blogger is naughty and forgets to post this schedule post, I have wifi at the hotel I'm staying at and hopefully I managing to make a least a layout by now.

Easter Carly

I thought I better use some Easter images before Easter is upon us and I have to wait till next year.
This cutie is called Easter Carly obviously she is a Mo Manning image and I love how I can layer them her images so easily.

Since Mr Mojo has left the building and I'm struggling a bit with all things papercraft I used my favourite things.  Spellbinders Floral Oval which I have taken out the centre and for a change I've used the Spellbinders wavy borders.

The papers are last years spring Doodlebug only have a few nice ones left and I only have a bit of the dotty one left. Feels good when you've used up a whole pad but do wish I had another to make more cards with.

Out came my favourite Retro Flower Punch from EK success and the Butterfly punch unfortunately I can't remember the make.

No cards are being made today, have to pack my bags for the retreat this weekend. Spending a weekend with nearly 80 women whose main aim to eat as much sweets, chocolate and cake isn't going to help the diet this week.

A Bit O' Green

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Touchy Feely Challenge and we hope you will join in with our new theme!
We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher
This week the challenge is

A Bit O' Green

We are showcasing CLEARLY BESOTTED PRODUCTS this week. You don't have to use them to join in with the challenge, but if you have them we would love to see them used!
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

Unfortunately my Clearly Besotted Merci Beaucoup stamp is out of stock at the moment although the die set is.

Normally I would fussy cut the main image but I was thinking of placing the flower on patterned paper and a white border would help the rose stand out which is why I have the matching dies. At the time of making the card I changed my mind.

I used the large rectangle die from Simon Says Stamp Bundle of Stitched Shapes to place my rose on to and added a bit of Doodlebug Pot O' Gold paper since this was a green challenge.

The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp Its Your Birthday stamp set which lives permanently on my desk along with Birthday Messages.

To finish I added the Memory Box Alphabet Soup letters to read Mum, I did layer that twice to help stand the word out of the white.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Kids

Couple of layouts using some cute images of two Gt Nephews I don't want you to think they're my only two I have another but I also have another two Gt Nephews and Gt Niece so I'm a proper Great Auntie that all my nieces and nephew think its huge joke when referring it to me.

The first one is of the youngest one even though he will be three next month where does the time go. I used scraps of Echo Park boys papers.

I tried to be a bit grungy here not sure it worked. I used various start dies to give me different sized and even doodled a bit. Luckily the cute sad pic of my Gt Nephew steals the show don't you just want to give him a hug.

Today here in the UK its Mother's Day and it tinged with sadness now that both my Mum and MIL have passed away.

Easter Bunnies

I made this card last week, I'm still patting myself on the back for being so organised! I knew I had to make sure I had a card for todays new challenge on Penny Saturday Challenge which you can guess what it is from my Easter card.
Only wish I was so organised that I had my post schedule instead of writing it with only five minutes to go.

Of course my cute image is an old Penny Black wooden stamp that comes out every year for easter. The papers are Doodlebug ones supposedly for Valentines but if turn over the heart ones you find more general patterns.

I used the Simon Says Stamps Stitched circles for my frame and it helps a small stamp work for a larger card. I think the sketch is from Mojo Monday from a few weeks ago and my sentiment is a LOTV one.

The border die I think is a Marianne but I'm not sure but it is blue and the corner is a La La Land die.

Do pop over and check out the team, also I hope you can join us this month.

Baby Boy's Blanket

I had to stop my previous squares which you can see here  because I promised my DD and Baby Boys blanket luckily I decided to use the colours I was already using so I could start immediately and order some more to finish off.

Love this picture of it really shows up the spikes but I'm back finishing of the other Afghan all the squares are made just having to crochet them together and make a border these are the worst bits for me anyway.

We've been back to MIL house it felt sad closing the door for the last time,  knowing we won't be back. I also came back with a virus that left me with an irritating cough and a bit under the weather.
I even haven't made Hubby Anniversary card we've been married for 38 years having met in the hot summer of 1976.

I like to say its going to be less busy but I have a crop to go to tomorrow and the weekend retreat is the week after, then I hope life with be less hectic for the next few weeks.
